Tight End Rankings: NFL Fantasy Week 13
The Expert Consensus Rankings (ECR) and I are pretty aligned with our Week 13 fantasy tight end rankings.
A quick look at the rankings below and perhaps the most noteworthy discrepancy is that I think Evan Engram is a TE1 this week, but the ECR does not.
But the ECR often suffers from recency bias. Engram had a pretty quiet week last week, managing just one catch for a miserable four yards. They seem to have quickly forgotten that Engram was amongst the league leaders in TE passing routes to start Week 12. And like usual, Engram ran nearly every route. He unfortunately was just under-targeted compared to Jacksonville wide receivers Zay Jones and Christian Kirk, who combined for a 53 percent target share. That is the aberration, not the trend.
The Jaguars go to Detroit this week. Public opinion says that the Lions have struggled a bit on defense this year. Whether that is an understatement or actually true could be disputed, but the fact is Detroit's D has allowed the fourth-most fantasy points per game to tight ends this season.
Engram is not a sexy option for this week, but he is a viable one.
