Saquon Barkley Runs Over Teammate in Viral Video: Fantasy Football World Reacts
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley turned on the “truck-stick” during practice against the Giants’ first-team defense. Barkley was seen exploding through a hole before lowering his shoulder and running over teammate Aaron Robinson.
The viral video of Barkley showing his power and speed has some fantasy football players chomping at the bit to draft the New York playmaker, while others raise questions about his injury history.
According to the latest Average Draft Position data, Barkley is being drafted as the No. 8 running back and 20th pick overall, which in a 12-team league is in the middle of the second round.
One fantasy football analyst tweeted “You are too low on Saquon Barkley” while another enthusiastic fan said “Oh Lawdy! If he’s back like that, watch out.”
One tweeter made a bold prediction stating “Saquon 2000-yard season incoming.”
But the Barkeley nay-sayers quickly chimed in as well. One pessimistic fan said, “All this to be out the season by week 3.” While another added "don’t fall for this for your fantasy draft. He’ll still have 9 carries for 10 yards in the 2nd Q"
Barkley has dealt with a barrage of injuries throughout his career. He missed three games in 2019, played in just two games in 2020 when he tore his ACL in Week 2, and missed another three games in 2021 with an ankle injury.
Barkley truthers and some fantasy football enthusiasts are still holding out hope that the Giants rusher can return to his 2018 form when he rushed for 1,307 yards, scored 11 touchdowns and finished as the No. 2 running back in fantasy football. The Athlon fantasy football cheat sheet ranks Barkley as the No. 7 running back.
