Start 'em, Sit 'em Week 15: Rachaad White and Other RB/WR Fantasy Advice

The Buccaneers' White has RB2 value in PPR formats.

When it comes to the fantasy playoffs, you need to be sure you win. That may seem obvious, but often it is tough when you must make start/sit decisions. The NFL has games on Saturday (three of them!) this week as well, so be sure you have your lineups set early. Always be sure to put a player in a flex spot that is playing later, in case something odd pops up (meaning: if you know you’re playing someone that has a game on Thursday or Saturday, put them in your RB or WR slot, rather than the flex slot). Good luck.

J.K. Dobbins, Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns (Sat.)

With Lamar Jackson likely out, Dobbins looks to be the key to this offense again. The Ravens are going to continue to run the ball, and when they aren’t running, they will be trying to move the chains through short passes. While Dobbins hasn’t been involved in the passing game, he certainly has emerged as a solid runner. In Week 14, he ran for 120 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. The expectation is that this will continue to be the case in Week 15 against the Browns.

Rachaad White, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Cincinnati Bengals

The Bucs' offense is having a lot of issues, but the way they are moving the ball is through short passes. Guess which running back catches those passes? White. While Leonard Fournette is still in the picture, White is used in the passing game. He’s had 22 targets in the past three games. He’s caught 20 of those for 107 yards and a touchdown. White does split the rushing attempts with Fournette, but the value is higher for someone who Tom Brady will check down to as often as he does. Against the Bengals in Week 15, White is an RB2.

SIT These RBs

Michael Carter, New York Jets vs. Detroit Lions

It seems that Carter, who regained his starting job after Breece Hall tore his ACL, has now lost it again. Zonovan Knight has come in and ignited the rushing offense. He played when Carter was injured, but in Week 14, both backs were healthy and active. In that game, Knight had 77 total yards to Carter’s 20. Carter also lost a fumble, which doesn’t help his status in the offense. It’s time to relegate Carter back to the bench.

Antonio Gibson, Washington Commanders vs. New York Giants (SNF)

Gibson is still dealing with a foot injury, but he will likely be active for "Sunday Night Football." The Commanders face the Giants, again. They just faced them in Week 13, had a bye in Week 14, and now face them again. Two weeks ago, Gibson had 39 rushing yards. He did add two receptions for 20 yards, but it seems that Brian Robinson Jr. is getting the majority of the work for the Commanders. Since Robinson has been heating up, Gibson’s usage has dropped off significantly.

START These WRs

Michael Pittman Jr., Indianapolis Colts at Minnesota Vikings (Sat.)

The Colts had a bye last week, but prior to that Pittman had been struggling a bit. In Week 13, he only had two receptions for 16 yards against the Cowboys. However, a matchup against the Vikings should change that. Minnesota just allowed the Lions to put up 416 offensive yards. The Vikings allow the second-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. Three Detroit wide receivers scored a touchdown last week. This should be a great game for Pittman.

Jerry Jeudy, Denver Broncos vs. Arizona Cardinals

The Broncos face the Cardinals in Week 15, but the biggest key here is that Jeudy is essentially the last man standing for Denver's receiving corps. Courtland Sutton and K.J. Hamler are out. Kendall Hinton is questionable with a hamstring injury and didn’t practice on Wednesday. This leaves Jeudy and tight end Greg Dulcich to handle the majority of targets. It may or may not be Russell Wilson (concussion protocol) throwing the ball, but Jeudy caught a touchdown from Brett Rypien in Week 14, so it shouldn’t affect his status as a WR2/3.

SIT These WRs

DJ Moore, Carolina Panthers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

After Moore was injured in Week 14, it seemed like he was doomed to miss some time. He ended last week with six rushing yards. The entire season has been a bust for Moore, with just two 100-yard performances and only four touchdowns on the season. He is clearly not healthy, even if he does suit up. Even when healthy, he just isn’t performing well. The Panthers face the Steelers, which is a great matchup (they allow the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers), but no one can get Moore the ball.

Tyler Boyd, Cincinnati Bengals at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Call it a gut feeling, but this has the makings of a big Tee Higgins game. Fantasy managers are frustrated with him because of the goose egg last week when he was active but only played one snap because of a hamstring injury he apparently suffered during warmups. If he’s active this week, odds are that’s playing – and getting points. With Ja'Marr Chase back and doing his usual thing, this means that Boyd will be the odd man out. He’s already dealing with a dislocated finger, and while he may be active, it’s hard to trust someone who hasn’t had more than 60 yards since Week 7.
