Georgia is the Most Bet Team to Win National Championship
The defending champion Georgia Bulldogs aim to become the first team to repeat as National Champions since Alabama accomplished the feat in 2011/2012. First they’ll need to get past Ohio State in the Peach Bowl and then beat the winner of the Fiesta Bowl between Michigan and TCU.
College Football Champion Splits
According to the College Football futures bet splits on the National Championship, bettors on DraftKings are banking on Georgia to pull off back-to-back National Titles. At -125 odds, the Bulldogs are the prohibitive favorites, followed by Michigan at +290, Ohio State at +350. TCU which is the No. 3 seed, is a massive underdog to win the National Championship at +1800.
56% of bets have come in on Georgia to win the National Championship. Those bets have represented 58% of the handle (total money bet). Michigan has the second most bets at 25% with 25% of the handle. Only 10% of bettors have wagered on Ohio State to win the National Title and just 9% of the tickets are on TCU.
Michigan plays TCU in the Fiesta Bowl on Saturday at 4:00 pm (est) in the first of two College Football Playoff semifinal games. The Wolverines are 7.5 point favorites over the Horned Frogs. Georgia takes on Ohio State in the Peach Bowl at 8:00 pm (est) on New Year’s Eve. The Bulldogs are listed as 6.5 point favorites.
Preseason Odds to win the National Championship
With just four teams remaining, the odds to win the National Championship have shifted significantly since the preseason. Heading into 2022, Alabama was listed as the favorite at +181 followed by Ohio State and Georgia with Clemson and USC rounding out the Top 5. Obviously, the Buckeyes and Bulldogs were the only two teams in the Top 5 to make the College Football Playoffs.
